Why Learn to Fly at the St. Catharines Flying Club?

FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

KNOWLEDGABLE, FUN AND VERY EXPERIENCED FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS.

MORE

As a certified Flight Training Unit designated by Transport Canada, we recognize that a Flight School can only be as good as the Flight Instructors who will train you how to fly.

More than just our knowledgable and friendly staff of Flight Instructors, we exceed all Transport Canada minimum requirements.

When you chose to fly with one of our Flight Instructors, you can be certain that our pilots have been extensively tested, and continue to be tested, in order to maintain the high standards that we expect. It certainly helps when we have a certified Transport Canada Examiner on our staff who keeps the team current.

You'll note that our Flight School has very experienced staff who have logged a lot of hours; three Class 1 Flight Instructors, one Class 2 Flight Instructor, one Class 3 Flight Instructor, and one Class 4 Flight Instructor.

We are also fortunate to have our very own certified Transport Canada Examiner on staff.

This level of expertise at one Flight Training Unit is rare, but it's the top reason why we turn out so many excellent pilots every year.

ONLINE GROUND SCHOOL

ONLINE OR CLASSROOM GROUND SCHOOL COMPLIANT WITH TRANSPORT CANADA REGULATIONS.

MORE

Our Ground School program runs throughout the year and is typically held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 10pm.

You may use our Online Ground School to review classes you miss, to study further ahead, or to rely completely on our Online Ground School for all of your Transport Canada knowledge requirements.

Online Ground School is ideal if you're located a great distance from our Flying Club, either nationally or internationally.

This course is taught by a certified Transport Canada Examiner.

OPPORTUNITIES WE PROVIDE

FLY OFTEN, LEARN AT YOUR PACE, SEE THE WORLD.

MORE

The opportunities that exist at our Flight Training Unit in the Niagara Region go beyond what many other flying clubs are capable of providing.

Having our own certified Transport Canada Examiner, and offering advanced ratings, you will have the opportunities for extended trips throughout Canada, the United States and more!

Throughout the year, many students plan a cross-country trip to Sun 'n Fun in Florida, or even take some of our planes on extended trips both nationally and internationally. Trips like these give you an amazing opportunity to learn from real-world scenarios.

For Commercial Pilots, we also provide access to opportunities for obtaining your Flight Instructor rating and opportunities for employment within the aviation industry.

BEST VFR WEATHER

THE NIAGARA REGION IS SUITABLE FOR YEAR-ROUND FLIGHT TRAINING.

MORE

Known as "The Garden City" for its parks, gardens and trails, the region has a unique micro-climate due to the moderating influence of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, and the sheltering effect of the Niagara Escarpment to the south, these allow wineries to flourish.

As a result, the city records numerous frost-free days during the winter.
